Located adjacent to the IMC, the Academic Success Center provides a place for students to go before school, during study hall or lunch, and/or after school to get help with coursework when the classroom teacher is not available.

Teachers, instructional aides, and student tutors work with students one-on-one or in study groups in many content areas of the curriculum.

Students who are not making progress in their coursework may be assigned to the ACS during study hall on a daily basis while other students may be assigned on an as-needed basis. The Academic Success Center staff will notify parents when students are assigned.

Teachers encourage students who are having aproblem learning specific concepts to use the Academic Success Center whenever the need arises. Students may also take tests and quizzes missed because of absence during study periods. At the end of each semester, the Academic Success Center offers exam review groups to help students prepare for final exams in most of the freshman, sophomore, and junior level courses.

The Homestead staff finds the Academic Success Center to be a very valuable resource for all students.
