MTSD Prepares to Begin the School Year in Distance Learning Scenario

MTSD teachers and staff are finalizing preparations to begin the year in Scenario D: Distance Learning for All Students. According to the most current available data compiled from local health agencies as of August 17, 2020, Ozaukee County stands at high/critical risk in the areas of activity level (burden) and positive test rate. Based on this information as it fits within the MTSD decision framework the decision was made to begin the year in distance learning.

Teachers scheduled to return to our school buildings on Monday, August 24 for a week of professional development and preparation for the upcoming year, and they are looking forward to connecting with students soon. Any student who needs to request a technology device can do so by completing this form. Pickup will be arranged and communicated by your school's Research & Digital Learning Specialist before September 1. School meals will be available for pickup at Homestead High School for students who reside Mequon or Thiensville.

Please take a few moments to review our Responsible Return web page for updated information on distance learning, FAQs, Canvas resources, and more. Please also stay tuned for communications from your school principals and teachers in the coming days as well. We know that September 1 is approaching, and teachers are eager to connect with their students. Thank you again to all those who have reached out to provide feedback as we continue to make daily updates in planning and navigate ongoing challenges together.
