Parking Lottery

It is time for the annual parking lottery at Homestead!

The parking lottery is for those students who plan to park at Homestead beginning on the first day of 2018-19 school year. Please note: If a student will be getting a driver’s license during the 2018-19 school year, please do not participate in the lottery; you will lose the $20 deposit unless you purchase a full year of parking. You will be able to purchase prorated parking during the school year.

In order to participate in the lottery, all school fees must be paid, any outstanding textbooks must be returned and there can be no documented parking violations during the current school year.

Here is how the lottery works: Students must return the Parking Lottery Form, along with a non-refundable deposit of $20 (cash or checks payable to Homestead High School) to the Student Office on the following registration dates only:

Incoming seniors: Tuesday, May 22 (Doors open at 6:50 a.m.)

Incoming juniors: Wednesday, May 23 (Doors open at 6:50 a.m.)

Incoming sophomores and all others: Thursday, May 24 (Doors open at 6:50 a.m.)

Priority will be given to requests in the order received. Forms will not be accepted early.

Expectations:

All vehicles driven to school must be registered and have a valid Homestead High School parking sticker attached to the top right corner of the rear window. Per School Board action, the fee to park at Homestead is $300 per year.

Students are assigned parking by colored section rather than by specific space. Once a student is assigned to a section, that student may park anywhere in that section; each day, spots within a section will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The only exception to this rule will be students who win special parking privileges through activities like the MTEF Tartan Bash silent auction. Students who park in a section other than the one to which they are assigned, including in the faculty, administration, or visitor’s sections, will receive consequences for violating school rules and possibly lose their parking privileges. A student who has his/her parking privileges revoked will not receive a refund of the parking fee.

Students may register up to two family-owned vehicles per parking permit, but only one parking sticker will be assigned per student. Students may not share a parking permit with fellow students. A daily parking pass is available in the student office for $2/day. Any non-registered vehicles in the lot may be ticketed by the Mequon Police Department. Students who park without a pass in the lot will be charged the full price for parking and will receive a parking sticker for the rest of the year.
