Statement Regarding HHS's U.S. News & World Report "Best High Schools" Ranking

Mequon-Thiensville School District administration is aware of Homestead High School (HHS) state ranking #142 in the most recent U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools electronic publication. Two of the five ranking factors for Homestead High School are listed as not applicable under the current rankings methodology. These two ranking factors are determined based on 12th-grade students’ participation and success on Advanced Placement examinations. U.S. News & World Report has shared that they are provided Advanced Placement data directly from the College Board. As with past rankings by US News and World Report, the rankings are determined based on assessment results from two years prior. The 2021 US News & World Report rankings are determined based on assessment data from the 2018-19 school year.

MTSD administration has contacted US News & World Report to communicate the problem and requested an updated ranking for HHS as soon as possible.

Information for Graduating Seniors

The resilience of our Class of 2020 has most certainly been tested. Through the uncertainty, we are committed to celebrating the milestone achievements of our graduating Class of 2020.

The resilience of our Class of 2020 has most certainly been tested. Spending time away from school, teachers, staff, and friends is not how our seniors should be celebrating the culmination of their years of education and launching them into their next steps. Through the uncertainty I want you to know that we are committed to celebrating the milestone achievement as our graduating Class of 2020.

We are pleased to announce that the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 will take place on the Homestead High School Football Field on Saturday, July 18 at 5 p.m. (inclement weather date is Sunday, July 19 at 11 a.m.)

The commencement ceremony will be live streamed so that anyone who is unable to attend can still enjoy this occasion live. The live stream can be accessed by visiting this website: https://www.productionsw7.com/homesteadgraduation
