Our School
Mission
Lake Shore's mission is to provide meaningful instruction using responsive practices so all students make continuous progress academically, socially and developmentally in order to be contributing and informed members of a global society.
Vision Statement
At Lake Shore Middle School our vision is to become a model school in which the teaching staff does whatever it takes to make learning happen every day for everyone through a variety of learning experiences and opportunities provided by dedicated, educated, and caring individuals.
At Lake Shore Middle School, we value the development of the middle level child by encouraging self-responsibility and promoting a culture of trust and respect among students, parents, educators and the members of the school community.
Meet the Principal
As parents and educators, we know there is no work more important than preparing our children to take on the world. Lake Shore embraces parents as partners to prepare students for a global society. We create opportunities to engage our families to support the academic and social-emotional development of each individual student.
All we do at Lake Shore is student-centered. Lake Shore is fortunate to have passionate educators who consistently develop and refine their instructional practices to ensure that students have the most rigorous academic opportunities. We also have specialists available in our building supporting our teachers and students. This great group of people include math, literacy, gifted and talented, research and digital learning and English language learner specialists. Our school is fortunate to have a full time social-emotional coach who supports all students in building and strengthening their social-emotional well-being.
We cultivate our students’ talents through our elective course offerings. These courses include related arts programming (FACS, art, chorus, band and orchestra), computer science and Project Lead the Way (science, technology, engineering and math hands on curriculum), as well as world languages such as Spanish, French and Latin.
Cocurricular and extracurricular opportunities also provide other ways for students to lean into their own individual passions. We offer leadership opportunities through student council and our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports program. There are several extracurricular activities including Math Counts, track, basketball, volleyball, cross country, wrestling, yearbook club, craft club and forensics. We truly believe that offering these rich opportunities allows students to be well rounded and more connected to our school community.
Lake Shore is a wonderful building for staff, parents and most importantly, students. Please contact me if you have any questions about our school.
Sincerely,
Jeff Haubenreich
