March is Youth Art and Music in Our Schools Month, both of which are celebrated on a national level. During the month of March, it is our goal at Oriole Lane to provide students with the time and opportunities needed to embrace their artistic and musical identities, explore the richness of the fine arts and participate together as a creative community.
Our kindergarten students have been very busy discovering their special reading powers!! All throughout the reading unit, students learned that they have special super reading powers. They can have pointer power, persistence power, reread power, picture power, and snap word power to name a few. They learned to use these reading strategies and have become stronger readers! We even have a special super reader theme song! Way to go Kindergarteners!
Kindergarten students in Mrs. Myllymaki's class have been very busy. A Kindness Elf (who the students named Jolly) came to visit the class every day with a new kindness challenge. The students had 12 Days of Kindness exciting projects.
