Teachers and specialists work with students to build not only the knowledge, but also the skills needed to succeed in all subjects. During Math, this student gets the opportunity to first learn and then demonstrate how to think like a mathematician: Marking the text, creating a visual, and solving the problem!
In 2019-20, we unveil a brand new Willy the Wildcat costume! Our wonderful Wilson mascot made a special appearance for our back to school festivities: The annual flag raising and singing of our school song! Can you guess which brave and bubbly staff member brought Willy to life for the first time this year?
Our first graders had an extra exciting school day when they explored the Mequon-Thiensville area on this year's community field trip! On their adventure, they were especially welcomed guests at Egelhoff's Lawn Mower Service, The Feed Bag Pet Store, Mequon Pizza Company, and Gierach's Service. Thanks to all who invited us in and coordinated such a great event!
Mr. Fietzer's Grade 3 class had its very own escape room experience! It was designed to not only review concepts in math, science, reading, writing, and social studies, but also work on critical thinking and problem solving skills. As a bonus, it was super fun! Way to go, Mr. Fietzer and class!

The article, meant for incoming freshman, shared information on strategies to assist them in reading complex texts. The class quickly realized that these Harvard strategies are the same as the ones they are using here at Wilson!
