Dear Families of 5th Grade Students,
We are excited to welcome you and your family to the Steffen Middle School community! We know that moving up to middle school is a big step, and we are here to support both students and families every step of the way. Whether your child is excited, nervous, or a little bit of both, our goal is to help them (and you!) feel prepared and welcomed. If you have any questions about the transition your child will experience, please contact our school counselor, Joel Sinden, at 262-238-4707 or jsinden@mtsd.k12.wi.us.
We look forward to meeting you and your child in preparation for the 2025-2026 school year!

Wilson Fun Fair will be taking place on Saturday, May 17th from 11am to 2pm in the Wilson Back Parking Lot. This a time honored tradition at Wilson and we hope you can join us! There will be food, games, inflatables, face painting, raffles, and much much more!
Tickets will go on sale Monday, April 7th at a reduced rate until Friday, April 18th. Make sure to purchase your tickets early so you don't miss out on the fun!
More information will be provided after Spring Break. We will also be looking for volunteers of all ages to help us run this amazing event.
We are looking for a few people to help us run the Wilson Fun Fair this year. We have the following positions open. You can sign up by yourself or share the role with a friend or two. If interested in taking on a role, please reach out to Lexie Wirth at lexiewirth@yahoo.com
OPEN FUN FAIR POSITIONS
Volunteers: Are you a task and list oriented person? Then this is the job for you. Help us monitor our Volunteer sign-up genius for Fun Fair and check in volunteers at the event. The sign up is already created, you just need to check in to make sure volunteers are signing up.
Prizes: Love to shop? Grab a friend and head up our prize committee. We have a full proof list for you to follow to help us purchase fun prizes for our Fun Fair. We will need your help setting up the prize tables ahead of the event. Who doesn't like to shop with someone else's money? Join this fabulous team today!
Games: Help us haul out and set up games for fun fair. Be a part of the team that brings joy to all those that attend fun fair. Most of this work is done the evening before fun fair with a small amount of overseeing during the event. You can still enjoy the day with your kids while helping us out!
Food: Ever wish you worked in a candy store? Or got to collect and count money? Well this is the job for you! Help us order and set up our concessions area the evening before the event. Then during the event, oversee volunteers in the food area and help replenish items. This is a great job for a mom, dad, grandma, grandpa or neighbor. Must be over the age of 18 to take on this role.
Questions about any of these roles, please contact Lexie Wirth at lexiewirth@yahoo.com
Please note that anyone volunteering in the school (reading in classrooms), on field trips, etc. must complete a successful background check. It typically takes one week to get results, so we encourage anyone that may volunteer to complete it now.
Background checks are valid for 3 years.
If we do not have confirmation of a successful background check you will NOT be allowed to volunteer, regardless of the circumstances. The link can be found here.
