Gather & Play: Renewing Mequon-Thiensville's Recreation

The Mequon-Thiensville School District is excited to share progress on Gather & Play: Renewing Mequon-Thiensville’s Recreation — a community-driven effort to revitalize the outdoor space at Range Line Community Center.

In the spring of 2025, the District submitted an application for a Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant through the Wisconsin DNR — and has now received a tentative award for the full $375,000 request! In addition to the grant amount, we still need community support to bring this vision to life! 

What’s Coming to Range Line

What began with plans for new outdoor pickleball courts and a new playground has grown into a comprehensive site renewal. The project envisions:

• A welcoming picnic and gathering area
• Enhanced baseball and flag football fields
• A possible small basketball court
• Modern, updated play space for all ages

These improvements will help Range Line continue its legacy as a space for connection, recreation, and community well-being. To support the project, MTSD created a sponsorship package that mirrors the fundraising model used for the Range Line outdoor pickleball courts.

Community Support in Action

Thanks to generous donors, pickleball sponsorships have nearly reached $95,000! The playground campaign is next — and we’re seeking our first kickoff donor to bring this vital space to life.

Every contribution brings us closer to a renewed Range Line — a place where Mequon and Thiensville families and community members of all ages can gather, play, and thrive together.
