Adult & Senior Activities

The Mequon-Thiensville Community Center offers a wide range of adult and senior activities for both residents and non-residents of Mequon-Thiensville.  Our calendar year is broken down into 3 seasons - each of these seasons offer more than 100 adult and/or senior activities in a wide range of categories.

Fitness

Examples include: Senior Fitness Photo

  • Senior Aerobics or Dance Aerobics
  • Gentle Yoga or Chair Yoga
  • Balance & Core or Functional Fitness
  • Retro Fitness or Zumba
  • Tai Chi or Qigong

Many of our instructors have been working with  the Community Center for years and consistently receive positive feedback about their classes.

Sports

No matter the season, Pickleball is always available multiple times per week for both beginners or experienced players.  Pickleball Photo

Other seasonally classes include:

  • Beginner Archery
  • Golf Conditioning
  • Badminton
  • Volleyball
  • Ice Skating

Enrichment

Adult Enrichment classes encompass a wide variety of course offerings, depending on the season, instructor availability and other factors.  These courses are usually a short series of classes over a few weeks or a one-time class. Paint Like Bob Ross Photo

Types of classes include:

  • Various forms of Dance
  • Multiple types of Art, such as:
    • Watercolors
    • Oil Painting
    • Wood Carving
    • Weaving
    • Knitting
    • Fiber Arts
    • Acrylic Glass
  • Card/Table Games, such as Bridge, Mah Jongg or Sheephead
  • Cooking Classes
  • Technology:  Cell Phones, Digital Cameras or Spreadsheets
  • Safety Classes:  CPR/1st Aid, Pet 1st Aid, Becoming a New Grandparent, AARP Smart Driver, etc.
  • Many other seasonal offerings that often include classes around hobbies (gardening, home organization, etc), health topics or learning something new (guitar, piano, spanish or self defense).

Free

 The Community Center takes great pride in being able to offer dozens of free programs each season.  The topics vary depending on the time of the year, instructor availability, community interest, etc.

You can often find classes on the following topics:

  • History
  • Legal or Financial assistance
  • Hobbies
  • Real Estate Market
  • Health or Home Safety
  • Arts & Crafts

Weekly Social Groups:

  • Sheepshead:  Tuesdays at 12:00pm & Fridays at 12:30pm
  • Open Play Mah Jongg:  Fridays at 12:00pm
  • Newcomers Mah Jongg:  1st & 3rd Thursday at 1:00pm
  • Open Painting:  Tuesday at 9:00am or Thursdays at 12:30pm
